Fire Fighters Deliver Toys at Hospital

Tyler city firefighters have been collecting toys for children in need for over 20 years, but this was the first year the firefighters distributed toys to children at the hospitals.

Meals on Wheels

Mary Porter, 77, of Tyler, is grateful for the food and volunteers from Meals on Wheels. She looks forward to the daily visit from the volunteer, and she says that she doesn't have a favorite food because they are all her favorite.

Carbon Monoxide Deaths

Relatives grieve in the street outside of a home where two bodies were found. Investigators determined that the cause of death was likely from carbon monoxide poisoning due to a generator running inside the home.

I'm always paranoid of things like this happening. There are so many simple ways that people can put themselves in danger and not even realize it.

Please be safe and always, always, always spend a little extra to protect yourself! (buy a carbon monoxide detector, smoke alarm, fire extinguisher, etc.) And always read about the risks of using equipment like heaters, generators, appliances, pesticides, aerosols, etc. in the home.

Lighthouse for the Blind Gives Back

Markita Cooper Lane of Tyler picks out a donated toy to put in a package for Toys for Tots Monday morning as she volunteers with co-workers from The Lighthouse for the Blind and Horizon Industries. Cooper Lane is legally blind.
